A Zn benzotriazolate metal–organic framework (MOF), [Zn(ZnO2CCH3)4(bibta)3] (1, bibta2– = 5,5′-bibenzotriazolate), has been subjected to a mild CH3CO2–/HCO3– ligand exchange procedure followed by thermal activation generate nucleophilic Zn–OH groups that resemble the active site of α-carbonic anhydrase. The postsynthetically modified MOF, [Zn(ZnOH)4(bibta)3] (2*), exhibits excellent performance for trace CO2 capture and can be regenerated at temperatures. IR spectroscopic data density...

Pyrazoles are an important class of heterocycles found in a wide range bioactive compounds and pharmaceuticals. Pyrazole synthesis often requires hydrazine or related reagents where intact N–N bond is conservatively installed into pyrazole precursor fragment. Herein, we report the multicomponent oxidative coupling alkynes, nitriles, Ti imido complexes for multisubstituted pyrazoles. This modular method avoids potentially hazardous like hydrazine, instead forming final step via...

Carboxylic acid-functionalized Pd and Pt PNNNP pincer complexes were used for the assembly of two porous Zr metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), 2-PdX 2-PtX. Powder X-ray diffraction analysis shows that new MOFs adopt cubic framework structures similar to previously reported Zr6O4(OH)4[(POCOP)PdX]3, [POCOP = 2,6-(OPAr2)2C6H3); Ar p-C6H4CO2-, X Cl-, I-] (1-PdX). Elemental spectroscopic characterization indicate presence missing linker defects, 2-PtX formulated as Zr6O4(OH)4(OAc)2.4[M(PNNNP)X]2.4...

The rational design of catalysts remains a challenging endeavor within the broader chemical community owing to myriad variables that can affect key bond-forming events. Designing selective for any reaction requires an efficient strategy discovering predictive structure–activity relationships. Herein, we describe use iterative supervised principal component analysis (ISPCA) in de novo catalyst design. regioselective synthesis 2,5-dimethyl-1,3,4-triphenyl-1H-pyrrole (C) via Ti-catalyzed formal...

Despite the ubiquity of reports describing titanium (Ti)-catalyzed [2 + 2 2] cyclotrimerization alkynes, incorporation arynes into this potent manifold has never been reported. The in situ generation often requires fluoride, which instead will react with highly fluorophilic Ti center, suppressing productive catalysis. Herein, we describe use group 4 diarylmetallocenes, CpR2MAr2 (CpR = C5H5, C5Me5; M Ti, Zr), as aryne precursors for Ti-catalyzed synthesis substituted naphthalenes via coupling...

The effects of Li+ and Mg2+ on the electrochemical behaviour photoreduction N,N'-bis(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)naphthalene diimide (Dipp2NDI) have been investigated using cyclic voltammetry UV-vis spectroscopy. Strong cation-anion interactions between or [Dipp2NDI]2- result in solvent-dependent anodic shifts NDI˙-/2- redox couple. In organic solvents moderate dielectric constant donor ability, two, one-electron processes typically observed for Dipp2NDI merge into a single, two-electron process....

Silicone-in-water emulsions have found widespread use as lubricants, water repellants, softeners, binders, antiblocking agents, antislip and defoamers across a diverse range of markets including textiles, coatings, pharmaceuticals, home personal care. Stable incorporation silicone into formulated products for these applications can be challenge. This study seeks to enable formulation by investigating the impact degree ethoxylation sodium lauryl ether sulfate (SLES) surfactants on their...

Abstract 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is traditionally considered an insensitive technique, requiring long acquisition times to measure dilute functionalities on large polymers. With the introduction of cryoprobes and better electronics, sensitivity has improved in a way that allows measurements take less than 1/20th time they previously did. Unfortunately, high Q‐factor with creates baseline curvature related acoustic ringing affects quantitative NMR analyses. Manual correction...
