In March 2008, a 19-year-old woman required emergency liver transplantation due to acute-on-chronic failure. No living donor candidate was available. A marginal deceased that had been rejected by all the other centers offered. The belonged 93-year-old and contained hydatid cyst. Liver transplantation is the lifesaving treatment option for rare acute liver failure that develops due to iatrogenic bile duct injuries or after major hepatectomy.
