Abstract TWIP-cored three-layer steel sheets were newly fabricated by hot rolling of TWIP sheet surrounded low-carbon (LC) or interstitial-free (IF) sheets. TWIP/LC TWIP/IF interfaces well bonded without pores voids, while a few pearlites thinly formed along the interfaces. Phenomena occurring in duplex lightweight steels under dynamic loading are hardly investigated, although its understanding is essentially needed applications of automotive steels.
