Consumption of fermented milk (FM) containing a probiotic, Lactobacillus gasseri SBT2055 (LG2055), previously showed reduction in abdominal adiposity randomised controlled trial (RCT) using FM with 10 8 colony-forming units (cfu) LG2055/g. However, whether the effectiveness is observed at lower concentrations, recommended minimum or intermediate levels probiotics (10 6 7 cfu/g, respectively), remains to be examined. A multi-centre, double-blind, parallel-group RCT was conducted 210 healthy...

n-Butanol is an important industrial chemical usually produced by the oxo process, expensive, energy-consuming set of reactions over metal catalysts, using petrochemical raw materials at high pressure. We developed nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite (HAP), a highly active calcium phosphate compound and found it catalyzed selective conversion ethanol to n-butanol in single reaction atmospheric pressure low temperature, with maximum selectivity 76%. Higher alcohols were also formed. postulate...

The magnetic behavior of CeIn3, CePb3, and the series compounds represented by formula LnSn3 with Ln=Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd has been investigated over temperature range 2° to 300°K. Curie—Weiss was observed in upper portion for all except SmSn3, effective moments were close agreement those expected free tripositive ions. SmSn3 is attributed contribution first excited multiplet (J=7/2). Néel points PrSn3, NdSn3, SmSn3. Deviations from at low temperatures cases ascribed antiferromagnetic ordering,...

Plant-derived, dehydrated ethanol was effectively converted to biogasoline in a one-step process on highly active nonstoichiometric hydroxyapatite (HAP) catalyst. The had research octane number of 99 and comprised chiefly hydrocarbons from C6 C10 as well oxygenates not generated the methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) using zeolite. To confirm proposed scheme for synthesis gasoline over HAP, alcohol conversions were carried out paired combinations five different alcohols with ethanol. Results...

The magnetic behavior of CeP, CeAs, CeSb, PrP, PrAs, and PrSb has been investigated over the temperature range extending from 4° to 300°K. Curie—Weiss is observed for all compounds in upper portion studied with effective moments fair agreement those expected free tripositive ions. cerium have Néel points at temperatures ranging 8° 25°K. praseodymium give no evidence ordering. At low they exhibit Van Vleck temperature-independent paramagnetism. This attributed influence crystal field...

The magnetic behavior of the series lanthanide—bismuth compounds having formula LnBi was investigated over a range temperature extending from 4° to 300°K and at field strengths ranging 5 21 kOe. Ln represents Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Er. Curie—Weiss observed in upper portion covered for all except SmBi. Effective moments were obtained which close agreement with that expected theory free tripositive ions. SmBi resembles elemental Sm other intermetallics is attributed contribution first...

The ratio susceptibility at Néel one extraporated 0°K is much larger than 3/2, suggesting that these compounds large crystal anisotropy. Metamagnetic behaviors were observed 4.2°K, product critical field was found be nearly constant 7 kOe e.m.u. per mole for all compounds. This result can explained by a simple sublattice model. value saturation magnetization anisotropy are discussed...
