A fast and effective method for image contrast enhancement is presented. In the proposed method, probability distribution function (histogram) of an modified by weighting thresholding before histogram equalization (HE) performed. We show that such approach provides a convenient mechanism to control process, while being adaptive various types images. also discuss application in video enhancement.
