We describe the identification of a conopeptide sequence in venom duct mRNA from Conus victoriae that suppresses vascular response to pain rat. PCR-RACE was used screen cDNAs for those transcripts encode specific antagonists vertebrate neuronal nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). One these peptides, Vc1.1, active as an antagonist nAChRs receptor binding and functional studies bovine chromaffin cells. It also suppressed responses unmyelinated sensory nerve C-fiber activation rats....

Abstract A combination of cDNA cloning and detailed mass spectrometric analyses was employed to identify novel conotoxins from Conus victoriae . Eleven conotoxin sequences were determined using molecular methods: one belonging the superfamily (Vc1.1), six O (Vc6.1–Vc6.6) four members T (Vc5.1–Vc5.4). In order verify post‐translational modifications (excluding disulfide connectivity) three conotoxins, vc1a, vc5a vc6a, deduced Vc1.1, Vc5.1, Vc6.1, respectively, liquid...

To what extent do people classified by police as 'offenders' and those they classify 'victims' overlap, thus creating a third category of individual targets for crime harm reduction called 'victim-offenders'? Leicestershire records in the 3-year period 2014–2016 were compiled on all 117,766 individuals who identified either victims or offenders 159,702 crimes which one more named. A 730-day-at-risk tracking after individuals' initial appearance data set was examined tracked cohort 42,916...

This study aims to seek new drugs from the marine environment, with a particular focus on venomous animals, in cone snail, Conus, genus of predatory animal highly evolved venom and delivery apparatus. These remarkable creatures provide an example rich diversity therapeutic molecules still be discovered species. In this article, description value these animals for medical research methods used realize potential their are presented. The showed that DNA- or gene-based mining can, when coupled...
