Two species of Trichogramma wasps were assessed for their effectiveness against yellow stem borer Scirpophaga incertulas. A laboratory cage test with T. japonicum and chilonis showed that both parasitized egg masses at 60.0% ± 9.13% 40.7% 7.11%, respectively, parasitism rates 15.8% 22.2% 2.8% 5.0% chilonis. Once the host eggs parasitized, emergence high (95.7% 0.12% 100% chilonis). In paddy field trials, two released three densities (50,000/ha, 100,000/ha 200,000/ha) in Southwestern China....
Trichogramma species and strains differ significantly in host specificity performance. Nine strains, six of them collected from paddy fields the Greater Mekong Subregion, were evaluated for performance on eggs striped stem borer, Chilo suppressalis (Walker), both laboratory field tests to determine potential that can be used an inundative release integrated pest management program. In glass vial tests, all showed higher parasitism rates 0-24-h than two older age groups (24-48 48-72 h). Wasp...
Abstract We provide a case study where Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for rice production systems has been introduced to the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS). Funded by European Union (EU), this IPM initiative brought together local and international partners develop an environmentally friendly economically sustainable pest management strategy southwestern China, Laos, Myanmar. A key component of was establish 12 Trichogramma spp. rearing facilities (TRFs) that mainly targeted stem borers....
Abstract Field‐scale experiments were conducted in 2005 and 2006 on three cooperative farms DPR Korea to evaluate the potential of Trichogramma ostriniae releases reduce tunnel damage maize plants caused by Asian corn borer, Ostrinia furnacalis , increase grain production. When released times against first generation pest at nominal densities about 150 000 parasitoids/ha each another two second (in total 750 parasitoids/ha), significant effects all assessed parameters obtained. In release...

Abstract The effects of pollen regular cotton and transgenic Bt+CpTI expressing the Cry1Ac protein Bacillus thuringiensis cowpea trypsin inhibitor (CpTI) as a food source for Trichogramma chilonis (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) were assessed in laboratory by studying longevity, parasitization rate, progeny survival, sex ratio. Females fed on suspension or water lived long those alone that unfed. However, females’ longevity was significantly reduced compared with females 10% honey honey,...

Trichogramma wasps were collected from the parasitized eggs of lepidopteran pests 21 sampling sites in East Asia and South-East Asia. Six species identified based on molecular identificationmethod using internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) region rDNAof chilonis, T. evanescens, ostriniae, embryophagum, dendrolimi japonicum. The results identification confirmed by morphological identification. Additionally, natural populations screened for prevalence Wolbachia. Five out infected same...
Most apple orchards in the production districts China were densely planted with vigorous rootstocks during 1980s. These have suffered micro-environmental deterioration and loss of fruit quality because closed canopy. Modification densely-planted is a priority current production. Intermediate thinning basic technique used to transform China. Our goal was provide theoretical basis for studying effect on efficiency photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), quality, yield. We measured leaf...
