We have performed magnetic susceptibility, heat capacity, muon spin relaxation, and neutron-scattering measurements on three members of the family ${\mathrm{Ba}}_{3}M{\mathrm{Ru}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{9}$, where $M\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}=\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{In}$, Y, Lu. These systems consist mixed-valence Ru dimers a triangular lattice with antiferromagnetic interdimer exchange. Although previous work has argued that charge order within or intradimer double exchange plays an...
We present measurements on a series of materials, Li_{2}In_{1-x}Sc_{x}Mo_{3}O_{8}, that can be described as 1/6th-filled breathing kagome lattice. Substituting Sc for In generates chemical pressure which alters the parameter nonmonotonically. Muon spin rotation experiments show this tunes system from antiferromagnetic long range order to quantum liquid phase. A strong correlation with implies it is dominant controlling level magnetic frustration, increased symmetry generating Magnetic...
Molecular magnets based on heavy transition metals have recently attracted significant interest in the quest for novel magnetic properties. For systems with an odd number of valence electrons per molecule, high or low molecular spin states are typically expected double exchange quasimolecular orbital limits, respectively. In this work, we use bulk characterization, muon relaxation, neutron diffraction, and inelastic scattering to identify a rare intermediate spin-3/2 dimer state...
Molecular magnets with one unpaired electron per molecule offer promise in the ongoing search for exotic states of matter, including quantum spin liquids. Here, authors investigate a series molecular based on Mo trimer building blocks each and find that magnetic ground are very sensitive to small changes breathing parameter---the ratio between first second nearest neighbor bond lengths kagome lattice they form. When this parameter is sufficiently close 1, these materials show an absence...
We report $^{51}\mathrm{V}$ NMR, muon spin rotation, and zero-applied-field $^{63,65}\mathrm{Cu}$ NMR measurements on powder samples of Sr-vesignieite, ${\mathrm{SrCu}}_{3}{\mathrm{V}}_{2}{\mathrm{O}}_{8}{(\mathrm{OH})}_{2}$, a $S=1/2$ nearly kagome Heisenberg antiferromagnet. Our results demonstrate that the ground state is $\mathbit{q}=\mathbit{0}$ magnetic structure with spins canting either in or out plane, giving rise to weak ferromagnetism. determine size ordered moments angle for...
We present high-pressure (2 GPa) $^7$Li nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements on single crystals of the hyper-honeycomb Kitaev magnet $\beta$-Li$_2$IrO$_3$. The spectra show evidence for a structural phase transition around 200 K and coexistence phases, consistent with results other measurement techniques. NMR line shift demonstrate strong suppression local susceptibility at high pressure. However, spin-lattice relaxation ($1/T_1$) shows clear power-law temperature dependence. This...
Our lack of knowledge about the biological mechanisms 50 Hz magnetic fields makes it hard to improve exposure assessment. To provide better information these measures, we use multidimensional analysis techniques examine relations between different metrics for a group subjects. We used combination two stage Principal Component Analysis (PCA) followed by an ascending hierarchical classification (AHC) identify set measures that would capture characteristics total exposure. This gives indication...
