Experimental evidence suggests that cyclosporine, which inhibits the opening of mitochondrial permeability-transition pores, attenuates lethal myocardial injury occurs at time reperfusion. In this pilot trial, we sought to determine whether administration cyclosporine percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) would limit size infarct during acute infarction. We randomly assigned 58 patients who presented with ST-elevation infarction receive either an intravenous bolus 2.5 mg per kilogram body...

Background— We previously demonstrated that ischemic postconditioning decreases creatine kinase release, a surrogate marker for infarct size, in patients with acute myocardial infarction. Our objective was to determine whether could afford (1) persistent size limitation and (2) an improved recovery of contractile function several months after Methods Results— Patients presenting within 6 hours the onset chest pain, suspicion first ST-segment–elevation infarction, whom clinical decision made...

Intravenous thrombolysis remains a widely used treatment for ST-elevation myocardial infarction; however, it carries higher risk of reinfarction than primary PCI (PPCI). There are few data comparing PPCI with followed by routine angiography and PCI. The purpose the present study was to assess contemporary outcomes in infarction patients, specific emphasis on pharmacoinvasive strategy (thrombolysis angiography) PPCI.This nationwide registry France included 223 centers 1714 patients over...

AimsThe CAPTIM (Comparison of primary Angioplasty and Pre-hospital fibrinolysis In acute Myocardial infarction) study found no evidence that a strategy angioplasty was superior in terms 30-day outcomes to pre-hospital with transfer an interventional facility patients managed early at the phase myocardial infarction. The present analysis designed compare both strategies 5 years.

ST-segment elevation in acute pericarditis is believed to be caused by superficial myocardial inflammation or epicardial injury. We used cardiac troponin I, a sensitive and specific marker of injury, assess lesions idiopathic its relationship elevation.Sixty-nine consecutive patients (53 men, 48+/-17 years) with were included. an enzymoimmunoflurometric method measure serum I on admission (myocardial infarction threshold was 1.5 ng. ml(-1)).Cardiac detectable 34 (49%) beyond the...

Previous reports have shown that radiofrequency ablation can terminate atrial flutter and prevent recurrences. However, different methods been used, the current experience remains limited. The objective of present study was to determine efficacy tissue in patients with using an anatomically guided approach. We treated 22 aged 30 73 years. Atrial recurrent for a mean 5 years despite administration multiple antiarrhythmic drugs. Radiofrequency directed isthmus between inferior vena cava...

To avoid atrioventricular node-His bundle ablation, catheter ablation of the atrial myocardium was attempted in eight patients with drug refractory type I flutter. In seven patients, a zone prolongation and fragmentation endocardial electrogram found low posterior part right atrium. Entrainment flutter by high pacing accompanied local recording second-degree regional block several sectors but never septal area. We, therefore, hypothesized that latter represented critical slow conduction...

The effects of amiodarone on the sinuatrial node were studied in 24 patients after an intravenous injection drug (5 mg/kg). Sinuatrial function was assessed by rapid atrial pacing and premature stimulation. Sinus cycle length did not change significantly, but corrected sinus recovery time prolonged. While there no significant conduction time, prolongation non-reset zone 14 cases, as well abolition platesu 2/24 patients, suggested that responses to might have been depressed.
