CoFe layered double oxide (CoFe LDO) anchored on g-C3N4 was prepared by mixing appropriate amounts of layer hydroxide and melamine at moderate synthesis temperatures. The resulting LDO/g-C3N4 composite has superior properties in peroxymonosulfate (PMS) activation, remarkable activity catalyzing paracetamol degradation. It been able to degrade 10 mg/L less than min darkness using 0.2 g/L catalyst 0.5 mM PMS dosages. effects dosage, initial pH coexisting anions were also investigated....

The ferromagnetic zircon-type phase of ${\mathrm{GdCrO}}_{4}$ presents high values for the magnetocaloric (MC) parameters. This compound has large isothermal entropy changes $\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}{S}_{T}$ under magnetic field action in a wide temperature range, from 5 to 35 K, reaching maximum $|\mathrm{\ensuremath{\Delta}}{S}_{T}|=29.0\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.1\phantom{\rule{0.28em}{0ex}}\mathrm{J}/\mathrm{kg}\phantom{\rule{0.16em}{0ex}}\mathrm{K}$ at 22 increment...

We report the magnetic properties and structure of zircon-type compound ${\mathrm{GdVO}}_{4}$, together with isostructural ${\mathrm{NdVO}}_{4}$. At $T\ensuremath{\simeq}2.5$ K, ${\mathrm{GdVO}}_{4}$ undergoes a phase transition to antiferromagnetic ${G}_{z}$, driven mainly by exchange interactions, while anisotropy dipolar interactions are minor contributions. Near liquid-helium boiling temperature, magnetocaloric effect is nearly as large that structurally closely related...

This article presents the results of a research project which studies feasibility substituting -in cement mortars- most commonly used lightweight aggregates in Spanish building constructions (i.e. expanded clay), by waste from olive industry. Spain is world's largest producer oil and olives, being therefore main olive-stone waste. These stones are currently as biomass. To determine viability substitution, an experimental plan was designed. The objective this to add three different stone...
