A case report of a patient with frequent ventricular premature beats but an otherwise normal ECG and no structural heart disease. Propafenone in therapeutical doses unmasked the picture Brugada phenomenon
In a 52‐year‐old woman, pharmacological conversion to sinus rhythm was achieved after 31 days of atrial fibrillation. spite permanent rhythm, even 7 months the conversion, no mechanical left activity restored, although right atrium showed normal contractility.
This is a case of female patient with collecting duct carcinoma the right kidney and myocardial metastasis. On electrocardiogram metastasis presented prolonged progressive ST elevation gradual decrease R wave amplitude in leads V3-V6. Echocardiography autopsy findings confirmed diagnosis.
We present a case of pulmonary valve fibroelastoma diagnosed by echocardiogram which was confirmed surgical resection in patient whom elective coronary artery bypass surgery performed. The had no clinical or constitutional symptoms suggesting the presence an intracardiac tumor. Routine preoperative transthoracic echocardiography revealed Histopathological analysis resulted diagnosis papillary fibroelastoma. Papillary fibroelastomas are rare and benign cardiac tumors. They usually arise from...
Mitral stenosis associated with free left atrial myxoma is very rare. A life-threatening when incarcerated in the mitral orifice or if embolization of whole tumor occurs. We report a case female patient moderate and detached myxoma. The was spherical, solid smooth-surfaced. prevented exit from atrium possible fatal outcome. surgically removed commissurotomy successfully performed. Histological analysis confirmed diagnosis
Goal:The prognostic significance of right bundle branch block (RBBB) in hospitalized heart failure (HF) patients is unclear.Hence, we sought to determine its value during hospital stay admitted for HF. Patients and Methods:The study population consisted the treated HF Department Cardiovascular Diseases, University Hospital Centre Rijeka, from 2006 2012.Many variables were compared between group without BBB (G1), with left (G2) RBBB (G3).Also, same G3 who discharged alive those...
Goal: To provide a real-life single centre overview of hospitalized patients with acutely decompensated heart failure (ADHF), evaluating differences and similarities according to age gender, analyzing the clinical profile, management outcome. Patients Methods:The study population consisted (1,820), enrolled in Department Cardiovascular Diseases, Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, from June 2006 2012.Differences were assessed men women four groups (I.<64, II.65-74, III.75-84, IV. 85...
in 36% of patients, with an average value 1323.4±1673.7 pmol/L. Echocardiography was performed 73% ejection fraction (EF) 39.3±14.6% and preserved left ventricular EF (defined as 45%) 39% patients. The mean NYHA class 3.7 (3.5 alive, 3.9 deceased patients). Medical therapy included diuretics (98%), beta blockers (82%), angiotensinconverting-enzyme inhibitors or angiotensin receptor (77%), digoxin (27%), mineralocorticoid antagonists (25%), statins (37%), antiarrhythmics the narrow sense...
A sixty-eight-year-old woman with a clinical diagnosis of pulmonary embolism and large right-heart embolus on echocardiography is presented. Because the critical condition patient inability to perform surgical intervention, thrombolytic treatment (streptokinase) was administered. The patient's improved, disappeared, perfusion lung scan there only one small defect in right lung. authors consider thrombolysis be appropriate for thromboembolism whenever embolectomy not possible.
The mitral valve pseudoaneurysm is a localized outpouching of the leaflet arising as result extension infection from aortic valve. most commonly perforated and communicates with adjacent heart cavities. (Karalis DG et al. Circulation 1992; 86: 353–362). Before era echocardiography, pseudoaneurysms were diagnosed during surgery (Reid CL Am J Coll Cardiol 1983; 2: 460–464) or autopsy (Saphir O Pathol 1948; 24: 83–95). Echocardiography, especially transesophageal echocardiography (TEE),...
