The southern Songliao Basin manifests itself as a wide-rift system that developed in northeast China from the Late Jurassic to Early Cretaceous. Individual basins experienced marked rift subsidence, but postrift subsidence was insignificant most of basins, contrasting strikingly with tectonic history northern Basin. Two types are defined according whether underwent prominent subsidence. Type 1 characterized by thick accumulations. 2 although experiencing minor represent and can be subdivided...

ABSTRACT This paper deals with the Tertiary tectonic and sedimentary evolution of western Tarim basin based on an integrated stratigraphic, sedimentary, structural, analyses. Basin is divided into three stages: Paleogene, Miocene, Pliocene. The was easternmost part Tethyan realm from Late Cretaceous to marine sedimentation continued Early Miocene. Miocene development chiefly governed by West Kunlun right‐slip faulting simultaneous northward thrusting Pamir salient Tianshuihai terrane....

This paper deals with a small continental rift basin in volcanic setting and tries to decipher potential controls on its synrift sedimentation. The Luanping basin, which is well-exposed Early Cretaceous the Yanshan belt northern periphery of North China block, was chosen as case study. We show that extensive vigorous volcanism took place just prior onset formation continued into period. Basin fills consist predominantly lacustrine, fan-delta, braid-delta, volcaniclastic deposits. Lacustrine...

Contrasting views exist on timing and mechanisms of Tertiary crustal uplift in the NE Tibetan Plateau based different approaches, with many models attributing surface to shortening. We carry out a comprehensive investigation mid-Tertiary stratigraphy, sedimentology, volcanism West Qinling, Hoh Xil Qaidam basin, results challenge previous views. It was held that discordance between Oligocene Miocene strata is an angular unconformity but our field observations show it actually disconformity,...

Abstract The forearc basin in Myanmar is significant understanding the development of continental basins. We present stratigraphic, sandstone petrographic, and U-Pb detrital data from Upper Cretaceous–Eocene strata Chindwin Minbu sub-basins Central Depression. Cretaceous lower Kabaw Formation consists turbiditic conglomerate, sandstone, mudstone sub-basin. composition conglomerates are mainly schist subordinate quartz. Prominent zircon age probability peaks between 260 223 Ma, similar with...

This paper investigates the environmental consequences of political uncertainty due to terrorism using a panel dataset 158 economies from 1995 2020. The empirical findings show that terrorist activities lead lower levels carbon dioxide emissions, with severe having quantitatively larger impacts. further analyzes heterogeneity impact across two distinct perspectives, involving disaggregation by level democracy and stability economies. Results suggest low fragile situation are characterized...

Abstract While international accreditations for tourist attractions have been extensively examined, the impact of nationally developed has less systematically investigated. Employing system generalised method moments approach, this study investigates relationship between 5A attractions, based on China's accreditation system, and arrivals in China, using annual city‐level panel data spanning from 2002 to 2017. The empirical results suggest that a significantly positive effect tourists'...

How does China’s 2008 economic stimulus plan affect housing price through the channel of state-owned enterprises (SOEs)? Utilizing a sample 206 Chinese cities and different-in-difference approach, we show that prices in with higher prevalence SOEs, tend to grow disproportionately faster than lower SOEs after shock plan. The heterogeneity tests SOE plays more important role city investment bonds, less financial development level marketization. Our conclusion is robust across battery sensitivity tests.
