We describe the content and properties of UV source catalogs from GALEX’s All-Sky Imaging Survey (AIS, 5σ depth ≈19.9(FUV)/20.8(NUV) mag, in AB system) Medium-depth (MIS, ≈22.6(FUV)/22.7(NUV) mag), constructed by Bianchi L., et al.: Mon. Not. R. Astron. Soc. (2010, press). The contain 65.3/12.6 million (AIS/MIS) unique sources with photometric error NUV less than 0.5 over 21 435(AIS)/1579(MIS) square degrees. Matched optical data GSC-II provide additional B, R, I photometry for brightest...
We present comprehensive catalogs of hot star candidates in the Milky Way, selected from GALEX far-UV (FUV, 1344-1786 AA) and near-UV (NUV, 1771-2831 imaging. The FUV NUV photometry allows us to extract hottest stellar objects, particular white dwarfs (WD), which are elusive at other wavelengths because their high temperatures faint optical luminosities. generated UV sources two GALEX's surveys: AIS (All-Sky Imaging Survey, depth ABmag~19.9/20.8 FUV/NUV) MIS (Medium-depth ~22.6/22.7mag)....
A novel design technique for Rock-on-a-Chip microfluidic devices was developed allowing the creation of a macroporous system made up larger channels and vugs that can be filled with distinct microporosity types.
Studies of debris disks around white dwarfs (WDs) have focused on infrared wavelengths because are much colder than the star and believed to contribute spectrum only at longer wavelengths. Nevertheless, these made dust grains which absorb scatter near-UV optical photons from WD, leaving a fingerprint that can be used further constrain disk properties. Our goal is show it possible detect effects in + integrated spectrum. We make theoretical calculations discuss necessary observational...
