UV light-induced surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) was reported. This method uses TiO2 nanoparticles as photoactive materials to reduce Cu(II)/L a Cu(I)/L complex under irradiation by one-electron transfer process for ATRP with multiple usage of monomer solutions. The growth polymer brushes can be manipulated either varying the content or regulating intensity, thereby yielding controllable thickness, composition, and architecture.

Heterojunction integration of inorganic semiconductors with metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) is verified to be a rational strategy achieve efficient charge separation and enhance photocatalytic performance. In this work, Bi2O2CO3/Bi-MOF heterostructures were fabricated by an in situ surface trimesic acid (H3BTC) etching method. First, Bi2O2CO3 nanosheets prepared the chemical precipitation After adding H3BTC, rod-shaped Bi-MOF was firmly anchored on because reaction Bi3+ H3BTC. As result,...

Brushing up on polymers: A difference in electrochemical potential allows surface-initiated atom-transfer radical polymerization a sandwiched metal substrate using microliter volumes. CuI activators are continuously generated and diffuse to the initiator-modified (see scheme), while CuII deactivators maintain polymerization. Polymer-brush gradients of SPMA complex shapes were produced this method. As service our authors readers, journal provides supporting information supplied by authors....

Abstract With the continuous development of industry, oil spill accidents occur frequently. Oil/water separation materials are considered to be a major choice for treatment oily wastewater due their flexible operation and low cost. Cotton fabrics low‐cost environmentally friendly, which used as substrates prepare oil/water with quite competitive in market. A large number cotton excellent properties have been frequently reported recent decades. On other hand, since service life these is...

CdS/CdSe quantum dot (QDs) co-sensitized graphene sheets have been obtained via polymer brush templated synthesis. Firstly, the anionic functional (polymethacrylate cadmium) was grafted surface initiated atomic transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) using a macromolecular initiator, which contains polymerized pyrene units for chemical anchoring on and alkyl bromines to initiate ATRP. Then, coordinated cadmium in chains can act as source precursor QDs. After reaction, brushes be recovered...

The clinical application of gambogic acid, a natural component with promising antitumor activity, is limited due to its extremely poor aqueous solubility, short half-life in blood, and severe systemic toxicity. To solve these problems, an amphiphilic polymer-drug conjugate was prepared by attachment low molecular weight (ie, 2 kDa) methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether (mPEG) acid (GA-mPEG₂₀₀₀) through ester linkage characterized (1)H nuclear magnetic resonance.
