Abstract. The relationship between aerosol optical depth (AOD) and PM2.5 is often investigated in order to obtain surface from satellite observation of AOD with a broad area coverage. However, various factors could affect the AOD–PM2.5 regressions. Using both ground observations Beijing 2011 2015, this study analyzes influential including type, relative humidity (RH), planetary boundary layer height (PBLH), wind speed direction, vertical structure distribution. ratio AOD, which defined as η,...

Abstract The size of a tropical cyclone (TC), measured by the area either rainfall or wind, is an important indicator for potential damage TC. Modeling studies suggested that aerosols tend to enhance in outer rainbands, which enlarges eyewall radius and expands extent area. However, no observational evidence has yet been reported. Using TC aerosol optical depth (AOD) data, we find have distinguishable footprint size. Other dynamical factors size, such as relative SST Coriolis parameter, are...

Abstract. The urban heat island intensity (UHII) is the temperature difference between areas and their rural surroundings. It commonly attributed to changes in underlying surface structure caused by urbanization. Air pollution aerosol particles can affect UHII through changing (1) energy balance radiative effect (ARE) (2) planetary-boundary-layer (PBL) stability airflow modifying thermodynamic structure, which referred as dynamic (ADE). By analyzing satellite data ground-based observations...

Larch, a widely distributed tree in boreal Eurasia, is experiencing rapid warming across much of its distribution. A comprehensive assessment growth on needed to comprehend the potential impact climate change. Most studies, relying rigid calendar-based temperature series, have detected monotonic responses at margins but not region. Here, we developed method for constructing temporally flexible and physiologically relevant series reassess growth-temperature relations larch Eurasia. Our...

Lipid nanoparticles (LNPs)-based mRNA vaccines have witnessed their great advantages in the fight against infectious diseases. However, pro-inflammatory properties of mRNA-LNPs may hinder induction antigen-specific tolerogenic immune responses. Here, it is demonstrated that stearic acid-doped LNPs co-loaded with nucleoside-modified and celastrol selectively target spleen, convert adjuvanticity promote a rather than immunogenic DCs phenotype. Furthermore, vaccine also invokes generation...

Abstract. The joint effects of aerosol, thermodynamic, and cloud-related factors on cloud-to-ground lightning in Sichuan were investigated by a comprehensive analysis ground-based measurements made from 2005 to 2017 combination with reanalysis data. Data include aerosol optical depth, (CG) density, convective available potential energy (CAPE), mid-level relative humidity, lower- mid-tropospheric vertical wind shear, cloud-base height, total column liquid water (TCLW), ice (TCIW). Results...

Our findings indicate that the gut-liver signaling axis contributes to saccharin/sucralose consumption-induced NAFLD. Supplementation with metformin or fructo-oligosaccharide is a potential therapeutic strategy for NAFLD treatment. In addition, we also developed new nutritional by using natural sweetener (neohesperidin dihydrochalcone [NHDC]) as substitute NAS and free sugars.

Understanding the response of vegetation spring phenology to climatic factors in arid regions is crucial for projecting land-climate interactions ecosystems under climate change. The Xinjiang region, an important part northern China with complex features, was selected as a case study. We investigated impact temperature, precipitation, and solar radiation on start growing season (SOS) using long-term series normalized difference index, data from 1982 2014, partial least squares regression...

Isoquercetin, a monosaccharide flavonoid, was recently reported to have significant amelioration effects on high-fat diet (HFD)-induced nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) of mice. However, the underlying mechanism hepatic cholesterol and triglyceride improvement in mice fed HFD by isoquercetin remains unclear. Here, combination 16S rRNA gene sequencing, targeted quantification bile acids (BAs), biological assays employed investigate beneficial NAFLD The results showed that dietary...

Peer interaction, social status, and reciprocated friendships were examined in 2 ethnically diverse groups of children: 104 kindergartners 106 third graders. There was no correlation between status ethnicity. Third-grade children formed more cross-ethnic engaged positive peer interaction than kindergartners. Children with different fewer experiences.

Abstract. Global climate models often underestimate aerosol loadings in China, and these biases can have significant implications for anthropogenic radiative forcing effects. The may be caused by either the emission inventory or treatment of processes models, both, but so far no consensus has been reached.
