Abstract The 2019/20 Black Summer bushfire disaster in southeast Australia was unprecedented: the extensive area of forest burnt, radiative power fires, and extraordinary number fires that developed into extreme pyroconvective events were all unmatched historical record. Australia’s hottest driest year on record, 2019, characterised by exceptionally dry fuel loads primed landscape to burn when exposed dangerous fire weather ignition. combination climate variability long-term trends generated...

Abstract Reproducible climate reconstructions of the Common Era (1 CE to present) are key placing industrial-era warming into context natural climatic variability. Substituted N-(4-(2-aminopyridin-4-yloxy)-3-fluoro-phenyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridine-3-carboxamides were identified as potent and selective Met kinase inhibitors. Substitution of the pyridine 3-position gave improved enzyme potency, while substitution pyridone 4-position led to aqueous solubility selectivity. Analogue 10 demonstrated complete tumor stasis in a Met-dependent GTL-16 human gastric carcinoma xenograft model following oral administration. Because its excellent...

Climate variability in the tropical Pacific affects global climate on a wide range of time scales. On interannual scales, is home to El Niño–Southern Oscillation (ENSO). Decadal variations and changes Pacific, referred here collectively as decadal (TPDV), also profoundly affect system. Here, we use TPDV refer any form or change that occurs atmosphere, ocean, over land within Pacific. “Decadal,” which broad sense encompass multiyear through multidecadal includes about mean state externally...

Abstract Small molecule inhibitors targeting mutant EGFR are standard of care in non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but acquired resistance invariably develops through mutations or activation compensatory pathways such as cMet. Amivantamab (JNJ-61186372) is an anti-EGFR and anti-cMet bispecific low fucose antibody with enhanced Fc function designed to treat tumors driven by activated and/or cMet signaling. Potent vivo antitumor efficacy observed upon amivantamab treatment human tumor...

Abstract. In drought-prone Australia, multi-year droughts have detrimental impacts on both the natural environment and human societies. For responsible water management, we need a thorough understanding of full range variability in how this might change warming world. But research into long-term frequency, persistence, severity Australian is limited. This partly due to length observational record, which short relative timescales hydroclimatic hence may not capture possible variability. Using...

Abstract. Australian seasonal rainfall is strongly affected by large-scale ocean–atmosphere climate influences. In this study, we exploit the links between these precipitation influences, regional variations, and palaeoclimate proxies in region to reconstruct four eight centuries into past. We use an extensive network of records from Southern Hemisphere cool (April–September) warm (October–March) season natural resource management (NRM) regions spanning continent. Our bi-seasonal...

In absence of external cooling influences, such as volcanic eruptions, projections are centered on a breaching target, relative to 1850–1900, before 2029. The phase Interdecadal Pacific Oscillation (IPO) will regulate rate at which mean approaches level. A transition positive IPO would lead projected exceedance target around 2026.
