The adoption of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) in production networks enables new potential for improved efficiency, accountability, sustainability and scalability. In terms transport processes, materialising this requires customised technological concepts, planning control methods as well business models. Even though CPS strongly rely on advancements, the creativity, flexibility problem solving competence human stakeholders is needed their operation. This paper introduces reviews social...

Developing dispatching rules for manufacturing systems is a process, which time- and cost-consuming. Since there no good general rule different scenarios objectives automatic search mechanism are investigated. In this paper an approach using Genetic Programming (GP) presented. The priority generated by GP evaluated on dynamic job shop from literature compared with manually developed yielding very promising results also interesting Simulation Optimization in general.

Dispatching rules are frequently used for real-time, online scheduling in complex manufacturing systems. Design of such is usually done by experts a time consuming trial-and-error process. Recently, evolutionary algorithms have been proposed to automate the design There several possibilities represent this hyper-heuristic search. Because representation determines search neighborhood and complexity that can be evolved, suitable choice key successful algorithm. In paper we empirically compare...

Decentralised scheduling with dispatching rules is applied in many fields of production and logistics, especially highly complex manufacturing systems. Since are restricted to their local information horizon, there no rule that outperforms other across various objectives, scenarios system conditions. In this paper, we present an approach dynamically adjust the parameters a depending on current The influence different parameter settings chosen performance estimated by machine learning method,...

Dispatching rules play an important role especially in semiconductor manufacturing scheduling, because these fabrication facilities are characterized by high complexity and dynamics. The process of developing adapting dispatching is currently a tedious, largely manual task. Coupling Genetic Programming (GP), global optimization meta-heuristic from the family Evolutionary Algorithms, with stochastic discrete event simulation complex system we able to automatically generate for scenario...

Detecting surface defects is a challenging visual recognition problem arising in many processing steps during manufacturing. These occur with arbitrary size, shape and orientation. The challenges posed by this complexity have been combated very special, runtime intensive hand-designed feature representations. In paper we present machine vision system which uses basic patch statistics from raw image data combined two layer neural network to detect on textured weakly labeled data. Evaluation...
