We report the first results of GammeV experiment, a search for milli-eV mass particles with axionlike couplings to two photons. The is performed using "light shining through wall" technique where incident photons oscillate into new weakly interacting that are able pass wall and subsequently regenerate back detectable oscillation baseline apparatus variable, thus allowing probes different values particle mass. find no excess events above background constrain two-photon possible scalar...

We report results from a search for chameleon particles created via photon-chameleon oscillations within magnetic field. This experiment is sensitive to wide class of unexplored power-law and dark energy models. These exclude 5 orders magnitude in the coupling chameleons photons covering range 4 effective mass and, individual models, between 12 couplings matter.

We report the first results from GammeV search for chameleon particles, which may be created via photon-photon interactions within a strong magnetic field. Chameleons are hypothesized scalar fields that could explain dark energy problem. implement novel technique to create and trap reflective particles jar detect them later their afterglow as they slowly convert back into photons. These measurements provide experimental constraints on couplings of chameleons

A search has been made in 300 GeV/c π±- and proton-Li interactions for production of states that decay into J/ψ or ψ' plus one two pions. 2.5σ enhancement the π0 spectrum, possibly recently reported 1P1 state charmonium, is observed at a mass 3.527 GeV/c2. In pion we report, together with expected ψ'→J/ψ π+π−, tentative observation structure 3.836 No enhancements are seen π±π±, π±π0, π±, π± spectra.Received 9 February 1994DOI:https://doi.org/10.1103/PhysRevD.50.4258©1994 American Physical Society

A fine-grain hodoscope to measure the position of showers in outer (>52 cm) region E-705 electromagnetic calorimeter is described. The constructed with two layers vertical conducting plastic tubes for X measurement showers. Y was accomplished by cathode-induced horizontal strips. 50/50-ethane mixture bubbled through isopropyl alcohol at 0 degrees C circulated parallel. were operated +1.925 kV on wire (below saturated avalanche) limited proportionality mode. described, and results are...

In a series of tests in the Fermilab P-West proton beam an Energy Doubler dipole, model E22-12, was exposed to various intensity 400 GeV/c beams with several types spills. Results are presented for sensitivity this magnet induced quenches. A Monte Carlo shower calculation performed predict energy deposition coil by and these predictions compared quench data. one case (4.75°K, 3500 A, 15 × 18 mm spot), required induce quenching microsecond spill 0.5 0.7 108 protons per pulse.
