In this paper, we have developed a simple method for adaptive out-filtering of the motion artifact from electrocardiogram (ECG) obtained by using conductive textile electrodes. The electrodes were placed on left and right wrist to measure ECG through lead-1 configuration. was induced hand movements. reference signal filtering placing additional at one capture hand. compared independent component analysis (ICA) algorithm. signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) approach higher than in most cases.

This paper introduces the work that has been done to improve underwater visibility from Underwater Robotic Vehicle (URV) for sub-sea inspection and repair missions. It is undertaken as part of a research program develop an imaging system in turbid water condition. Images associated with systems are frequently degraded due absorption scattering effects its environment. The effect reduces signal strength, latter both strength image resolution. In order conditions, general design considerations...

The range-gated imaging systems are reliable underwater system with the capability to minimize backscattering effect from turbid media. tail-gating technique has been developed fine tune signal ratio and hence improve gated image quality. However, limited quality enhancement in high turbidity levels. In this paper, we a numerical model of for near target medium. simulation results matched experimental work favorably. Further investigation using shows that multiple scattering components noise...

This paper presents a novel implementation of the Maximally Stable Extremal Regions (MSER) detector on system-on-chip (SoC) using 65 nm CMOS technology. The SoC was developed following Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) design flow which significantly enhanced its realization and fabrication, overall performances. has very low area requirement (around 0.05 mm 2 ) is capable...

Numerous techniques and algorithms have been developed implemented, primarily in software, for object tracking, detection recognition. A few attempts made to implement some of the hardware. However, those not yielded optimal results terms accuracy, power memory requirements. The aim this paper is explore investigate a number possible real-time video surveillance, revealing their various theories, relationships, shortcomings, advantages disadvantages, pointing out unsolved problems practical...

In this paper, we analyze the average packet queueing delay of a slow-moving user in macro-femto two-tier heterogeneous cellular network. We model as queue that experiences vertical handover between macro and femto base stations. define states progression at each interval 2-D discrete time Markov chain. determine chain's steady-state probability distribution so can be calculated using Little's Theorem. With model, effects on caused by variations coverage area dwell time, service rate,...

Range-gated imaging can improve the signal to backscattering noise ratio (SBR) in turbid media. This is achieved by synchronizing a short duration, high intensity pulse with precise camera gating. It well known that shorter length and gate duration enhance SBR. However, there no analytical model of (as function timing) be used minimize within camera-captured signal. We propose formulation (a modification Falk's lidar equation) models as convolution fixed upper limit. predicts variation...

In this paper we propose a novel approach to introducing semantic relations into the bag-of-words framework. We use latent models, such as LSA and pLSA, in order define semantically-rich features embed visual space. The used technique are derived from low-rank approximation of word-document occurrence matrix by SVD. Similarly, using pLSA approach, topic-specific distributions words can be considered dimensions concept proposed space, distances between represent which for constructing...

With growth demands to untethered embedded systems, e.g. sensor nodes, in the flexibility, performance, product longevity, areas, and decreasing time-to-market (TTM), programmable logic devices may allow covering lack of suitable processing units. Decrease feature transistor sizes allows producing smaller providing more computational power. However, such shrinking introduces higher power lost (static power). Moreover, are clocked with frequencies due performance increase that additional...
