Gallstones and cholecystectomy have been proposed as risk factors for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The reason this may be that both gallstones, well NAFLD share several with regards to their development. Currently, there is a lack of sufficient evidence showing an association between these clinical conditions. To determine whether meaningful gallstones NAFLD.We queried the National Inpatient Sample database from years 2016 2017 using International Classification Diseases, 10th...
In this article, we present a case of young female patient with previously diagnosed lupus pneumonitis, now flare and new superimposed COVID-19 infection that was treated intravenous steroids. On computed tomography scans, she had extensive interstitial lung fibrosis in addition to positive polymerase chain reaction test requiring 6 L oxygen via nasal cannula on admission. The management of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) levels is a central strategy for the prevention atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. Current United States (2018 American Heart Association/American College Cardiology/Multisociety) and European (2019 Society Cardiology/European Atherosclerosis Society) guidelines endorse statin therapy as first-line pharmacologic LDL-C lowering. However, in clinical practice up to 30% patients report partial or complete intolerance therapy....
Immunotherapy drugs are gaining popularity in the treatment of certain malignancies due to success these agents recent clinical trials. Pembrolizumab is an immune checkpoint inhibitor that acts via binding programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) receptors on T-cells, allowing for constitutive activation T-cells fight malignant tumor cells. Immune molecules such as PD-1 act inhibit T-cell function, promoting tolerance self-antigens. Inhibition may lead increased against cancer cells, but also healthy...
We aimed to assess outcomes of patients with liver cirrhosis who underwent therapeutic or diagnostic endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) determine whether these had different relative without cirrhosis.ERCP is an important procedure for treatment biliary and pancreatic disease. However, ERCP relatively technically difficult perform when compared procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy colonoscopy. Little known about how use affects cirrhosis.Using patient records from...
Using National Inpatient Database (NIS), comparison of clinical outcomes for patients primarily admitted atrial fibrillation/flutter with and without a secondary diagnosis amyloidosis was done. mortality the primary outcome hospital length stay (LOS), mean total charges, odds undergoing cardiac ablation, pharmacologic cardioversion, having discharge heart block, cardiogenic shock arrest were outcomes. NIS database 2016, 2017 used only adult hospitalizations as principal using ICD-10 codes....

The primary objective this study was to determine patient-specific outcomes and burden GP on US healthcare system. This population-based, retrospective designed analyze data available from Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) for 2016 2017.
