Groundwater is the most important source of drinking water. Fluoride was found in high concentrations groundwater from deep wells water supply southern main Ethiopian rift. The concentration fluoride dominantly geogenic rather than anthropogenic origin, as agricultural area not to be contaminated with NO3−. Knowledge enrichment will help provide management plans for developing and minimizing health risks exposure fluoride. chemical processes were investigated waters Bilate River basin using...

Methyl farnesoate (MF), a counterpart of insect juvenile hormones in crustaceans, plays essential roles molting, metamorphosis, and reproduction. In this paper, we isolated gene-encoding Krüppel homolog 1 from the mud crab Scylla paramamosain (Sp-Kr-h1) investigated its involvement MF-regulated vitellogenesis. RT-PCR showed that Sp-Kr-h1 had wide expression various tissues. qRT-PCR level ovary peaked at stage III. Both vitro vivo experiments suggested Vitellogenin (Vg) hepatopancreas was...

A new turtle from the Early Cretaceous (Aptian) Jiufotang Formation of western Liaoning, China, Perochelys lamadongensis, gen. et sp. nov., represents first species soft-shelled Jehol Biota. The taxon is diagnosed by combination following characters: nuchal bone about five times wider than long; preneural absent; reversal orientation in neural series at V; fully separates costal series; VIIIs reduced; plastral callosities poorly developed and sculpted; postorbital bar narrow, around...

The Jinan karst spring system, discharged by 108 springs in 2.6 km2 city center area of Jinan, China, has been suffering lower regional groundwater levels, which threatens the outflowing and aquatic ecological civilization. For better protection, monthly hydrogeochemical isotopic investigations were conducted four representative (Baotu Spring (BTQ), Heihu (HHQ), Zhenzhu (ZZQ), Wulongtan Springs (WLT)) 2016. Results showed that BTQ, WLT, ZZQ had similar behaviors, different with HHQ. By...

Abstract Oogenesis is crucial for sexual reproduction and provides the material basis population continuation. Nonetheless, identity of cells involved, nature transformation, underlying regulators oogenesis in crustaceans remain elusive. Here, an atlas ovary plotted via single‐nuclei RNA sequencing (snRNA‐seq) mud crab Scylla paramamosain , resulting five cell types, including germ cells, somatic three follicle types identified, which turn abundant candidate markers them. Moreover, profiles...

Abstract Sinaspideretes wimani Young & Chow, 1953 was based on a single shell from the Jurassic red beds of Sichuan Basin. Originally referred to Trionychidae but later tentatively assigned Carettochelyidae, it long thought be oldest representative those families. The re-examination carapace and further preparation plastron holotype S. revealed number important characters which clearly exclude this taxon both unite with primitive trionychoid Yehguia tatsuensis (Ye, 1963). is therefore...

Abstract Two new tetrapod burrow casts from the Naobaogou Formation (Middle or Late Permian) of Nei Mongol, China are described. It marks first pre‐Cenozoic China, and one earliest records burrows. Comparison to other Permian Triassic burrows suggests that these were created by slightly smaller than Lystrosaurus . Deduced morphology sizes two known tetrapods Formation, should be production a therapsid, most likely dicynodon. These indicate seasonal climate this area was semiarid arid during time.

CRY-DASH, a new cryptochrome blue light receptor, can repair damaged DNA and regulate secondary metabolism development of fungus. However, its role in regulation during the growth Saccharina japonica is still unclear. After cloning full-length CRY-DASH from S. (sjCRY-DASH), we deduced that open reading frame was 1779 bp long encoded 592 amino acids. sjCRY-DASH transcription rapidly upregulated within 30 min response to exhibited 24 h periodicity with different photoperiods. Moreover,...

Validation is the basis of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image quantification applications. Based on point target field site, radiation characteristics backscattering coefficient can be used to optimize SAR imaging, and product production system more closely targeted, ensure accuracy in actual application. In this study, validation was examined using calibrators, radiometric properties were evaluated by extracting cross-section each target. Bilinear interpolation fast Fourier transform...

Most of the current trust models in peer-to-peer (P2P) systems are identity based, which means that order for one peer to another, it needs know other peer's identity. Hence, there exists an inherent tradeoff between and anonymity. To best our knowledge, is currently no P2P protocol provides complete mutual anonymity as well authentication management. We propose a zero-knowledge scheme called pseudo (PT), where each peer, instead using its real identity, generates unforgeable verifiable...

SUMMARY The 2400-km-long Tan-Lu fault, the largest deformation zone in eastern China, plays a decisive role seismicity, regional tectonics and mineral deposits distributions. However, velocity structure beneath particularly southern segment, is poorly imaged due to lack of local earthquakes. To obtain high-resolution crustal image, we carried out an active source experiment by firing mobile airgun sources along Yangtze River Anhui Province October 2015. We manually picked 4118 P wave 1906...

Type II crustacean hyperglycemic hormone (CHH) neuropeptides play diverse roles in crustaceans. In the hermaphrodite shrimp Lysmata vittata , two transcripts of type CHHs (molt-inhibiting hormone/gonad-inhibiting hormone, MIH/GIH1 and MIH/GIH2) were identified by transcriptome sequencing, was later named Lvit -GIH1 for its inhibitory effect on ovarian development.
