Here, we present some interesting new results on the linear modal stability of Couette–Poiseuille flow (CPF), by numerically solving Orr–Sommerfeld equation within temporal framework. We provide a mechanistic explanation to well-known result that upper plate movement causes progressive stabilization CPF.
