Myrteae (c. 2500 species; 51 genera) is the largest tribe of Myrtaceae and an ecologically important groups angiosperms in Neotropics. Systematic relationships are complex, hindering conservation initiatives jeopardizing evolutionary modelling. A well-supported robust phylogenetic hypothesis was here targeted towards a comprehensive understanding within tribe. The resultant topology used as base for key analyses such age estimation, historical biogeography diversification rate patterns. One...

A new classification of the large Neotropical genus Myrcia s.l. is proposed. Nine sections are presented that correspond to recently published clades. Of these nine sections, sects. Myrcia, Aulomyrcia and Sympodiomyrcia already published, Reticulosae Tomentosae sect. Eugeniopsis a combination whilst Aguava, Calyptranthes Gomidesia combinations at rank (comb. & stat. nov.). Six lectotypifications made for or genera. Estimates species per section listed.

Changes in phenological events have been vastly documented face of recent global climate change. These studies are concentrated on temperate plants, and the responses tropical species still little understood, likely due to lack long-term records tropics. In this case, use herbarium specimens gather data over long periods wide geographic areas has emerged as a powerful tool. Widely circumscribed taxa are good candidates for in-depth taxonomic studies. The current taxonomy of Oxalis sect. Polymorphae includes 13 species mostly endemic to the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, in eastern Brazil. polymorpha Mart. ex Zucc., type-species section, exhibits a wide morphological variability and at least four recognized morphotypes. We propose segregation six from this widely O. by combining molecular systematic data nuclear plastid genomes. Thus, decipiens Progel, previously...

Increasingly complete phylogenies underpin studies in systematics, ecology, and evolution. Myrteae (Myrtaceae), with ~2700 species, is a key component of the exceptionally diverse Neotropical flora, but given its complicated taxonomy, automated assembling molecular supermatrices from public databases often lead to unreliable topologies due poor species identification.

No estado do Paraná, o apresenta 11 espécies (C. adamantium, C. aurea, eugenioides, guaviroba, guazumifolia,...
