Waste chloride pickle liquors from hot-dip galvanizing plants, steel plants and flue dust contain reasonable amounts of heavy metals such as Zn, Cr, Ni, etc. Iron is invariably associated with most these materials comes into solution during leaching. Thus, the synergistic extraction zinc(II) iron(III) leach solutions in tri-n-butyl phosphate (TBP)–di(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA) system diluted kerosene was investigated. The Zn Fe concentrations liquor used present study were 2 g/L....
Thiocyanate (SCN–) is a promising alternative to cyanide as lixiviant for gold extraction and 1000 times less toxic than cyanide. In this study, the following leaching parameters were tested optimize recovery first time from an oxide ore using response surface methodology: initial thiocyanate concentration (10–500 mM), Fe3+ pulp density (10–50% w/v). The maximum (96%) was achieved with 500 mM thiocyanate, 100 Fe3+, 50% at 25 °C pH = 2 24 h. A kinetic study on optimum condition showed that it...
For the first time, an ionic liquid, Cyphos IL 101, has been evaluated for selective gold recovery from thiosulfate leachate of sulfidic ore by solvent extraction. The pregnant leach solution at pH 9.5 contained 2.4 mg/L gold, 55.85 copper, and 0.26 silver in medium. speciation different metals was studied extraction over copper achieved utilizing 0.1 mol/L 101 A/O = 5. Different liquid carriers were tried to dilute toluene found best choice. number stages theoretically determined based on...
Arsenic is a poisonous element and its super mobility can pose major threat to the environment human beings. Disposed arsenic-bearing waste or minerals over time may release arsenic into groundwater, soil then food chain. Consequently, safe landfill deposition should be carried out minimize bleeding. Cement-based stabilization/solidification glass vitrification are two important methods for immobilization. This work compares stability intrinsic leaching properties of sequestered by cement...
