Abstract This survey proposed a new methodology ‐ iGAEZ (improved GAEZ), developed based on the GAEZ (Global Agro‐Ecological Zones) model, capable of simulating crop yields global scale for wheat, potato, cassava, soybean, rice, sweet maize, green beans. determines optimum criteria parameter growth cycles to ensure best realistic yield combinations under comprehensive consideration climate and condition. Global‐scale were calculated using model period 1990‐1999. Through comparing simulated...

The extremely high-streamflow events of the Paranaíba River basin are found to be associated with La Niña phenomenon during December–February (DJF). Extreme identified based on their persistent flow for seven days and more after taking retention time into consideration. years; 80% have occurred phases. Therefore, a very-significant above correspondence seasonal streamflow anomalies in DJF. Although climate variations direct relationship rainfall, considered as surrogates rainfalls. However,...

The rapid spread of COVID-19 has demanded a quick response from governments in terms planning contingency efforts that include the imposition social isolation measures and an unprecedented increase availability medical services. Both courses action have been shown to be critical success epidemic control. Under this scenario, timely adoption effective strategies allows outbreak decelerated at early stages. objective study is present model specially tailored for epidemics, aimed allowing...

Many of the Japanese regions subject to seasonal snow cover are characterized by low elevations and relatively high winter temperatures. A small change in temperatures could render many these areas susceptible consequently affect water resources management. This paper describes a climatological approach combined with an AGCM output identify main river basins most sensitive case climate Japan. It was found that 1°C rise temperature during season increase snow-free area Japan 6%. The Tohoku...

The present study examined the influence of Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Passo Fundo dam lake on local rainfall pattern. Daily data were obtained from National Water Agency for two different periods: prior to filling, 1960-1970 (pre-filling) and later 1971-1981 (post-filling). Statistical measures (mean, maximum, minimum, standard deviation coefficient variation) Student’s t-test applied both periods regarding monthly total. In the summer of 2013/2014 Brazil’s Southern region dealt with a severe crisis in water supply. Recent studies have shown that low volume rainfall was caused by an anomalous atmosphere blocking condition. Would this anomaly be regional effect climate change?
