Background . Hypercholesterolemia and disruptions of the blood brain barrier (BBB) have been implicated as underlying mechanisms in pathogenesis Alzheimer's disease (AD). Simvastatin therapy may be benefit treating AD; however, its mechanism has not yet fully understood. Objective To explore whether simvastatin could block disruption BBB induced by cholesterol both vivo vitro. Methods New Zealand rabbits were fed cholesterol-enriched diet with or without simvastatin. Total serum was...

Abstract Background Pathogenic variants of PAX2 cause autosomal-dominant -related disorder, which includes variable phenotypes ranging from renal coloboma syndrome (RCS), congenital anomalies the kidney and urinary tract (CAKUT) to nephrosis. Phenotypic variability makes it difficult define phenotypic spectrum associated with genotype. Methods We collected in patients enrolled China national multicenter registry who were diagnosed pathogenic variant reviewed all published cases disorders....

Abstract Background While the GRIPHON study and others have confirmed efficacy safety of selexipag with single, dual, initial triple combination therapy for patients pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), multicenters studies concerning diverse oral therapies based on are limited. Hypothesis This was conducted to evaluate effects various sequential PAH outcomes. Methods A retrospective carried out involving 192 from 10 centers, who were receiving consisting an endothelin receptor antagonist...

Pulmonary artery intimal sarcoma (PAIS) is a rare malignant tumor that presents with nonspecific symptoms and may be misdiagnosed as thromboembolic disease. We report case of 40-year-old female who presented diarrhea the initial symptom, was received thrombolytic therapy for presumed pulmonary embolism. Progressive subsequent surgery led to diagnosis PAIS, early relapse after endarterectomy. Her survival time 17 months To our knowledge, manifestation PAIS has not been described.

Abstract Purpose The optimal neoadjuvant chemotherapy regimen for early-stage human epidermal growth factor receptor 2(HER2)-positive breast cancer in the context of anti-HER2 therapy is unclear. aim this study was to compare effects anthracycline and non-anthracycline regimens, under different HER2 blocking conditions, on efficacy long-term prognosis HER2-positive cancer. Methods In real-world retrospective observational study, 270 patients treated with stage II-III our center, were...

Objective To investigate the changes of gene transcriptional profile in human lymphocyte irradiated by heavy ion. Methods The agilent expression microaray was used to detect and analysis profiles lymphoblastoid cells exposed 0.1, 0.5 2 Gy ions 56Fe17+ 12C6+ . The differential expressed genes were analyzed using GO (gene ontology) database, pathway KEGG database. Results Heavy ion irradiation affected expressions cells. transcription levels for101, 199, 299 changed ion,...

Abstract Background: Biliary Atresia (BA) is a devastating pediatric cholangiopathy affecting the bile ducts of liver. Current research has found variety causes for BA, with inflammation and fibrosis more studied. However, these etiological mechanisms are not present in all patients. Pyroptosis been increasingly appreciated as programmed cell death process but less studied BA. We have re-classified BA by integrating gene microarray data scRNA-seq to support individualized clinical treatment...
