The Ouémé delta, located in southern Benin, serves as the main tributary system for Nokoué lagoon, fed by Sô and rivers, that cross a vast plain of wetlands. This region experiences pronounced seasonality driven African monsoon, leading to significant river level fluctuations cause major flooding pose threats livelihoods safety riverine communities. The aim this study is assess spatio-temporal variability water levels inundated areas extent at seasonal...
This study aimed to investigate the seasonal variation of zooplankton diversity and abundance in Nokoué Lagoon southern Benin. Through extensive sampling, a total 109 zooplanktonic taxa were identified quantified. The average was found be 60 individuals per liter, with copepods rotifers being most dominant groups, comprising 68.1% 29.1% abundance, respectively. key factor as driving structure assemblages salinity, which showed significant variation. results revealed that during high water...
This study investigates the effects of tidal cycles on zooplankton community within Cotonou Channel, an important waterway connecting large Nokoué Lagoon to Atlantic Ocean in Benin. From determination composition from 25-hour samples collected July 2020, alpha diversity indices and abundance were assessed, while relationships between biotic abiotic parameters analyzed through Pearson correlation, analysis variance, principal component analysis. A total 66 taxa identified, with rotifers...
