This article proposes a general definition of emerging economies (EEs) and investigates the main determinants their high rates economic growth by extending basic framework neoclassical models to include various dimensions development. By analysing a panel of 76 developed and developing countries for period 1980–2014, this paper provides new evidence about the relation between economic freedom income distribution, measured through decile shares. The results show that higher degree has negative impact on first eight deciles; conversely, it favours richest percentiles and, especially, top 10% 5%. While aim at reopening an old debate with evidence, calls more accurate studies estimate effects each subcomponent may have inequalities.
