본 논문은 통신 중계를 활용한 항법시스템에서 위치정확도 향상을 위한 측위 알고리즘을 제안한다. 중계 기반 항법시스템은 측위의 기준점이 되는 구성요소들이 한쪽 방향으로 분포하며 삼각측량법에 의해 위치가 계산되므로 시스템의 구조적 특성에 의한 수직오차가 수평오차에 비해 상대적으로 크게 발생한다. 제안하는 가상 기준점을 알고리즘에서는 항법메시지로부터 송신한 기준국의 위치와 기 추정된 사용자의 위치를 기준으로 새로운 가상의 생성하고 이를 활용해 재추정한다. 기준점은 위치로부터 거리가 가장 인접한 기준국을 선택함으로써 기하학적 요인에 영향을 최소화하도록 하였다. 통해 기준점들의 방향을 공중 및 지상으로 다원화함으로써 수직오차를 감소시켰으며, 기존 기반의 항법시스템보다 정확한 위치추정이 가능하다. 논문에서는 모의실험을 위치정확도가 향상됨을 확인하였다.
