open hip surgery is known to be a risk for heterotopic ossification (HO), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have been widely recognized as an effective prevention. Hip arthroscopy gaining popularity thanks the possibility of treating femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) with minimally invasive technique, however little about its rate postoperative HO. The aim present study evaluate HO prevalence after FAI relationship NSAID prophylaxis.
Background: Stem cell therapy is expected to offer new alternatives the traditional therapies of rotator cuff tendon tears. In particular, resident, tissue-specific, adult stem cells seem have a higher regenerative potential for tissue where they reside. Hypothesis: Rotator and long head biceps possess resident population that, when properly stimulated, may be induced proliferate, thus being potentially usable regeneration. Study Design: Controlled laboratory study. Methods: Human samples...
Increasing the success rate of rotator cuff healing remains tremendous challenge. Among many approaches, possibility activating resident stem cells in situ, without need to isolate them from biopsies, could represent valuable therapeutic strategy. Along this line, it has been recently demonstrated that lipoaspirate product, Lipogems, contains and produces growth-factors may activate cells. In study, human tendon (hTSCs) were cocultured a transwell system with Lipogems product compared...
Purpose The aim of this study was to report the rate survivorship in patients with osteonecrosis femoral head treated core decompression association mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) implantation, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, and synthetic bone graft. Methods We evaluated 24 hips 16 patients, according Ficat classification, by decompression, injection PRP MSCs, backfilling tract Survivorship estimated using Kaplan–Meier curves. Results procedure is 50% at 75 months follow-up. survival...
the aim of this systematic literature review is to report clinical outcomes reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) used as a revision surgery following failure primary implant due rotator cuff insufficiency.a was performed using key words: revision, shoulder, deficiency, outcome assessment, treatment outcome, complications. Studies eligible for inclusion in were trials investigating patients whom with an incompetent replaced prosthesis.nine articles identified and further reviewed. The results...
Purpose: the purpose of this study was to describe a new test for identifying lesions long head biceps (LHB) and evaluate its diagnostic performance in comparison with selected traditional clinical tests. Methods: one hundred nine consecutive candidates arthroscopic rotator cuff repair were prospectively recruited. The BRF test, which measures resisted flexion strength, performed patient seated (armat side elbow flexed at 90°). The asked maintain maximal resistance five seconds while strength...
