Summary In this paper, we study the convergence property of a block improvement method (BIM) for bi‐quadratic polynomial optimization problem over unit spheres. We establish global generally and its linear rate under second‐order sufficient condition. also extend BIM to inhomogeneous problems Numerical results reported in paper show that is promising.
