Elongating intramedullary rods have been used in the management of osteogenesis imperfecta for past fifty years. The complication rates reported many reviews available techniques high. This study long-term functional outcomes and complications following use Sheffield system telescopic rods.We conducted a retrospective analysis patients with who were at least eighteen years age had thirteen follow-up. Complications, reoperations, data from disease-specific questionnaire Short Form-36...

The Sheffield Expanding Intramedullary Rod System was developed after experiencing problems with existing rod systems in the management of osteogenesis imperfecta. Between 1986 and 1996 we treated 74 bones lower limb 28 children at a median follow-up 5.25 years. We have reviewed 24 total 60 rods. Before surgery, all had multiple fractures limb. At review eight patients experienced no further fractures, but three suffered five or more subsequently. initial stabilisation, 15 never walked, only...

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to expand globally, with case numbers rising in many areas of the world, including Eastern Mediterranean Region. Lebanon experienced its largest wave infections from January April 2021. Limited genomic surveillance was undertaken, just 26 SARS-CoV-2 genomes available for this period, nine which were travellers detected by other countries. Additional genome sequencing is thus needed allow variants circulation. In total, 905 sequenced using ARTIC protocol....

Abstract Background The COVID-19 pandemic continues to expand globally, with case numbers rising in many areas of the world, including Eastern Mediterranean Region. Lebanon experienced its largest wave infections from January April 2021. Limited genomic surveillance was undertaken, just twenty six SARS-CoV-2 genomes available for this period, nine which were travellers detected by other countries. Additional genome sequencing is thus needed allow variants circulation. Methods Nine hundred...

SummaryThe financial savings of early hospital discharge as a result laparoscopic cholecystectomy have to be offset against the capital investment in introducing this technique. These costs may particularly high with disposable instruments which are used only once. We audited versus reusable scissors, grasping forceps, and trocars since inception our service January 1991. (The term trocar is throughout paper denote cannula sets.) In consecutive series 265 cholecystectomies, 227 operations...

Background
Germ-line mutations in the bone morphogenetic protein type-II receptor, BMPR-II, underlie 80% of heritable pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) cases and approximately 25% idiopathic PAH cases. may arise due to endothelial dysfunction as mice with BMPR-II deficiency exhibit increased vascular permeability. BMP9 is an quiescence factor thought maintain integrity endothelium. We previously reported that ALK1 are key receptors through which inhibits proliferation human...
