Abstract Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in Children (MIS-C) is a rare manifestation of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-CoronaVirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection that can result increased morbidity and mortality. Mounting evidence describes sex disparities the clinical outcomes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, there lack information on sex-specific differences immune responses MIS-C. This study an observational cross-sectional we wanted to examine parameters such as cytokines,...

A prospective case-control study was conducted in a major tertiary care hospital for children during June 2005 to May 2006 on aged between 3 months and 5 years compare serum zinc levels 38 cases of simple febrile seizure age-matched controls. The mean controls were 32.17 87.6 microg/dL, respectively. This difference statistically significant ( P < .001). We conclude that Indian with had low levels, supplementation reduce the incidence should be investigated.

Tuberculosis (TB) in children is not only more likely to cause severe disease than that seen adults, it also be extrapulmonary. Moreover, pediatric TB very difficult diagnose and suffers from a lack of understanding host biomarkers for monitoring the progression disease. Hence, we sought identify expression patterns variety plasma with pulmonary (PTB) extrapulmonary (ETB), as well healthy control (HC) children. Thus, examined circulating markers reflecting tissue inflammation, oxidative...

ABSTRACT Type 1 cytokine responses are known to play an important role in immunity tuberculosis (TB) children, although little is about other factors that might be important. In addition, children more prone developing extrapulmonary manifestations of TB than adults. To identify the immune both control infection and dissemination, we examined mycobacterium-specific with pulmonary (PTB) (ETB) compared them those healthy (HC). No significant differences were found either no stimulation or...

Introduction Multisystem Inflammatory Syndrome in children (MIS-C) is a serious inflammatory sequela of SARS-CoV2 infection. The pathogenesis MIS-C vague and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) may have an important role. Matrix are known drivers lung pathology many diseases. Methods To elucidate the role MMPs pediatric COVID-19, we examined their plasma levels acute COVID-19 compared them to convalescent with other common tropical diseases (with overlapping clinical manifestations). Results...

Sixty-seven (22 seizures, 23 22 controls) were enrolled. Serum level estimated using atomic absorption spectrometry.Mean (SD) controls 969·8 (177·3), 638·1 (206·8) 939·9 (258·4) ug/L, respectively (p<0·05).Serum are lower than those normal children. Biliary diversion offers a potential option for intractable pruritus in children with chronic cholestatic disorders. Progressive familial intrahepatic cholestasis (PFIC) is an inherited disorder of impaired bile acid transport and excretion, which presents jaundice the first few months life progresses to cirrhosis by infancy or adolescence. We report child PFIC type 1 who underwent internal biliary was relieved his symptoms.

The clinical presentation of MIS-C overlaps with other infectious/non-infectious diseases such as acute COVID-19, Kawasaki disease, dengue, enteric fever, and systemic lupus erythematosus. We examined the ex-vivo cellular parameters aim distinguishing from syndromes overlapping presentations. children differed non-MIS-C conditions by having increased numbers naïve CD8 + T cells, naïve, immature atypical memory B cells diminished transitional memory, stem cell central effector CD4 classical,...
