The frozen-phonon method, used to calculate electron-phonon coupling effects, requires calculations of the investigated structure using atomic coordinates displaced according certain phonon eigenmodes. process ``freezing in'' specific can bring electronic eigenstates that are energetically close in energy into an anticrossing. This anticrossing effect is, however, unrelated and needs be removed if eigenvalues obtain coupling. We present a procedure for how deal with these problematic...

The bright photoluminescence (PL) of colloidal CdSe quantum dots (QDs) makes them interesting for optical applications. For most them, well-defined PL properties, dominated by a single excitonic state, are required. However, in many experiments with QD ensembles, multiexponential decay was observed. On the basis spin–orbit density functional theory and screened configuration interaction calculations, we show that highly symmetric defect-free QDs diameters 1.7 2.0 nm possess low-temperature...
