This first VELOCE data release comprises 18,225 high-precision RV measurements of 258 bona fide classical Cepheids on both hemispheres collected mainly between 2010 and 2022, alongside 1161 additional observations 164 other stars. The median per-observation uncertainty is 0.037 km/s, some reach 0.002 km/s. Non-variable standard stars characterize zero-point stability provide a base for future cross-calibrations. We determined differences 31 literature sets using template fitting measured...

Line splitting in spectral lines is observed various types of stars due to phenomena such as shocks, spectroscopic binaries, magnetic fields, spots, and nonradial modes. In pulsating stars, line often attributed pulsation-induced shocks. However, this rarely classical Cepheids, with only a few reports; these include X Sagittarii BG Crucis, where it has been linked atmospheric We aim investigate Sgr Cru using time series search for similar other Cepheids. High signal-to-noise...

Abstract The 30 yr orbit of the Cepheid Polaris has been followed with observations by Center for High Angular Resolution Astronomy (CHARA) Array from 2016 through 2021. An additional measurement made speckle interferometry at Apache Point Observatory. Detection companion is complicated its comparative faintness—an extreme flux ratio. diameter measurements appear to show some variation pulsation phase. Astrometric positions were measured a custom grid-based model-fitting procedure and...

The photometric observations from the recent decade revolutionized our view on classical pulsators. Low-amplitude signals have been detected photometrically in addition to dominant high-amplitude radial mode pulsations many RR Lyrae stars and Cepheids. First overtone (1O) pulsators with an additional low-amplitude signal at a period ratio of around 0.61 main mode, so-called stars, form most populous group among these stars. nature this has attributed non-radial pulsations. Another mysterious...

Classical Cepheids provide valuable insights into the evolution of stellar multiplicity among intermediate-mass stars. Here, we present a systematic investigation single-lined spectroscopic binaries (SB1) based on high-precision velocities measured by VELOcities CEpheids (VELOCE) project. We detected 76 (29%) SB1 systems 258 Milky Way in first VELOCE data release, 32 (43%) which were not previously known to be systems. determined 30 precise and 3 tentative orbital solutions, 18 (53%) are...

Abstract Cepheid masses continue to be important tests of evolutionary tracks for intermediate-mass stars as well predictors their future fate. For systems where the secondary is a B star, Hubble Space Telescope ultraviolet spectra have been obtained. From these temperature can derived, and from this mass companion M 2 .
