This paper presents a new algorithm for two-terminal fault location in transmission line. It creates fault-based information ranging function. According to the characteristic of function, it analyzes trajectory function vector and finds failure point by recursive uses Pscad Matlab simulate prove its correction.
This study presents a ranging algorithm which requires only voltages and currents measured from the two terminals to establish equations. It divides line into certain parts uses every point as failure solve three groups of impedances. When function is established by impedance data reaches minimum, corresponding right point.
