After administering the equivalent of 1 g eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in four different chemical forms, kinetics EPA incorporation into plasma triglycerides (TG) were compared by gas liquid chromatography on a capillary column following separation lipid fraction thin layer chromatography. TG was markedly smaller and later when administered as an ethyl ester rather than free fatty acid, arginine salt or 1,3-dioctanoyl-2-eicosapentaenoyl glycerol (2-EPA). Our results data literature are...

•In SARS-CoV-2-naïve subjects, spike-specific T-cell response was significantly increased after the second dose of vaccine•In patients treated with chemo-immunotherapy, seems to be lower borderline statistical significance•Between naïve and experienced patients, no differences were reported in terms CD4- CD8-specific response•In level SARS-CoV-2 neutralizing antibodies reached a higher median 1 : 80 dose•No COVID-19 cases documented throughout period study BackgroundVery few cancer enrolled...

The products of cholesterol autoxidation (oxysterols) in heated animal food fat were determined qualitatively and quantitatively to evaluate their toxicity those the foods which they occur. Samples beef tallow taken from deep-fat fryers while use. oxysterols identified assayed by gas liquid chromatography thin layer on Chromarods with flame ionization detection (TLC-FID). two methods compared TLC-FID method was found more convenient for a rapid estimation autoxidation. Of original...

Abstract Cholesteryl stearate, oleate, linoleate, linolenate and arachidonate were oxidized in solid form (at 100 C) a water dispersion (in the presence of potassium pH 7.5, 80 C). The unsaponifiable fraction was analyzed by capillary gas liquid chromatography. In state, oxidation rates esterified cholesterol high for stearate low polyunsaturated esters very free cholesterol. dispersion, reversed, e.g., more quickly than its stearic oleic acid esters. fatty chains 18∶0 18∶1 inhibited...

Abstract The present study addresses the question whether nervonic acid (24∶1n−9) accumulation in sphingomyelin (SM) of red blood cells (RBC) could yield information on cerebrum maturation premature infants. included 28 eutrophic infants 31.5 wk gestational age. Eleven were fed with human milk, nine a regulator formula and eight an α‐linolenate‐enriched formula. fatty composition SM fraction was determined by gas‐liquid chromatography 50‐m fused silica capillary column. At 32 age, main acids...

Alveolar macrophages (AM) are the principal resident phagocytes in human lung, and play a major role local defence against environmental agents. It is now known that during asthma these cells take part amplification of inflammatory mechanism. has been demonstrated vitro they can be activated to generate leukotriene B4 (LTB4) 5-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid (5-HETE), mediators with potent pharmacological properties. These two arachidonic metabolites were identified quantified by reversed phase...

The intestinal absorption of 5,6 alpha-epoxy-5 alpha-cholesta-3 beta-ol, an oxysterol formed by cholesterol autoxidation, has been evaluated in the male Wistar rat. Measurement 14C/3H ratio serum (by method Zilversmit and Hugues) feces showed that a large proportion epoxide was absorbed. Epoxide clearance from blood very rapid, but its excretion stool continued for several days, corresponding to fraction stored animal.
