A population study in a sample of 200 unrelated individuals from the Basque Country (Northern Spain) was carried out using GenePrint STR Multiplex System. The PCR products were electrophorized on denaturing polyacrylamide gel and visualized by silver staining. loci are TH01, TPOX, CSF1PO. All meet Hardy-Weinberg expectations, independence alelles at these found. comparison with other groups appeared to indicate that frequencies well conserved Caucasians, but differ those racial groups. Based on a micro thermal cycler apparatus, new protocol for amplification of the D1S80 locus has been developed. The advantages this system consist reduction in time and costs process, which greatly facilitates analysis at population level considerably increases its applicability forensic samples. Using protocol, an allele distribution study carried out sample 257 individuals residing Basque Country. In study, up to 22 different alleles, ranging from 17 40 repetitions have observed;...
