The pumping speeds of several diode type ion pump elements with cell radii 5, 5.5, 6, 9, and 12 mm were measured while being subjected to a magnetic field B, ranging from 500 G up 15 kG, misalignment angles (angles between the direction B anode axis) 0° 13°. 9 cells peaked around 1–2 then dropped off rapidly an increasing field. smaller remained constant all decreased misalignment. this study are three four times lower than calculated using previously reported empirical formulas.
