Objectives Ischemic stroke is one of the most common neurological disorders. Oxidative stress, inflammation, and reduction Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) are implicated in cell death during ischemic stroke. Several studies suggest that Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective properties can increase BDNF levels. This study investigated effects oral CoQ10 supplementation on oxidative stress biomarkers Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC), Superoxide...
ABSTRACT Tyrosinemia type 1 often manifests with liver, renal, or peripheral neuropathy disorders. Before therapies like nitisinone, management was limited to dietary modifications and liver transplantation. We present a 19‐month‐old girl who developed respiratory distress requiring intubation, abnormal laboratory findings, including function tests. Further work‐up, succinylacetone testing, confirmed tyrosinemia. She responded remarkably nitisinone treatment.
Cerebrovascular events are closely related to cardiac events. Chronic inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular stroke. The link between RA, myocardial infarction, resulting neurological issues highlights case's complexity, stressing need for a comprehensive, interdisciplinary medical approach.
Abstract Objective: The coronavirus (COVID-19) has been spreading around the world since December 2019. Neurological symptoms have reported as a part of clinical spectrum disease. This study aimed to determine frequency neurological complications in hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Methods: Electronic medical records hospital information system, laboratory findings, and radiological examinations were evaluated for all laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection. cases referred Shahid...
Background and Objective: Stroke is the third most common cause of death in developed countries disabling neurological disease. There are several risk factors for stroke.Regarding this, present study was conducted to investigate effect Helicobacter pylori antibody on incidence stroke.Materials Methods: This case-control 50 patients (i.e., case group) with stroke admitted Sina Teaching Hospital Hamadan, Iran, using convenience sampling method. This group compared healthy controls terms serum...
