We present a series of improvements the FANTASIO experimental set-up that couples supersonic expansion to cavity ring-down spectrometer originally reported by M. Herman, et al., Mol. Phys. 105, 815 (2007). In particular, implementation new pulsed slit valve 80 mm in length is detailed. The design based on powerful piezo stack actuator. Schlieren imaging used verify homogeneity molecular beam and quality performance. ability form weakly bound van der Waals complexes assessed using...

We present the observation of N2–H2O van der Waals complex in 2OH stretch overtone region. The high-resolution jet cooled spectra were measured using a sensitive continuous wave cavity ringdown spectrometer. Several bands observed and vibrationally assigned terms ν1, ν2, ν3, vibrational quantum numbers isolated H2O molecule, as (ν1′ν2′ν3′)←(ν1″ν2″ν3″)=(200)←(000) (101) ← (000). A combination band involving excitation in-plane bending motion N2 vibration water is also reported. analyzed set...

AbstractSpectra of rare gas (Rg) – D2O dimers (Rg = Ar, Kr, Xe) are studied in the region ν3 asymmetric stretch (≈2800 cm−1), using a rapid-scan tunable infrared optical parametric oscillator source to probe pulsed supersonic slit jet expansion. Three bands observed each case, labelled according rotational transition with which they correlate as: Σ(101) ← Σ(000), Π(101) and Σ(000) Σ(101). The Ar-D2O exhibit various perturbations line broadening effects. For Kr-D2O, simple relatively...

The O-D stretch rovibrational spectra of N2-D2O and N2-DOH were measured analyzed. A combination band involving the in-plane N2 bending vibration was also observed. These bands recorded using a pulsed-slit supersonic jet expansion mid-infrared tunable optical parametric oscillator. analyzed by considering feasible tunneling motions, transitions fitted to independent asymmetric rotors for each state. rotational constants four components retrieved excited vibrational states. two order...

<p>Buffer gas cooling relies on the thermalization of a buffer with surface brought to cryogenic temperatures, which in turn thermalizes target molecules through collisions. Because this process does not rely any particular energy pattern, molecule can be temperature gas. Advantages are numerous: it is continuous source slow laboratory frame velocities, allowing for long observation times. Moreover, contrast supersonic expansion, require important pumping infrastructure because...
