The enzymatic starch hydrolysis and bioethanol production from a variety of sweet potato developed for bioenergy purposes (K 9807.1) on the basis its high yields, was studied. Drying at 55°C 95°C neither affected sugar content nor efficiency. Simultaneous saccharification ethanol fermentations dry matter ratio to water 1:8 1:2 (w/v) were Fresh dried (flour) assayed. At ratios 1:8, similar results fresh flour in terms concentration (38-45 g/L), fermentation time (16 h) conversion (~ 100%)...
Abstract In this work, phosphoric acid pretreatment (0.6% H 3 PO 4 , 160 °C, 40 min) of eucalyptus residues was performed to recover the hemicellulosic fraction for further conversion l ‐lactic by fermentation with Weizmannia coagulans DSM 2314 (formerly Bacillus ). The hydrolysate composed xylosaccharides 24.8 g L –1 (mainly xylose, 20.3 ), acetic 7.8 furfural 0.7 and acid‐soluble lignin (ASL) 2.1 . It subsequently purified using anion exchange or adsorption resins. Different...
In this work, Eucalyptus grandis sawdust was subjected to steam explosion as the first step in cellulosic ethanol production within a biorefinery approach. The effect of moisture content eucalypt (8 and 50%) pretreatment process variables, such temperature residence time, were evaluated along with influence water washing steam-exploded solids on enzymatic hydrolysis C6 fermentation yields. All other streams characterized evaluate recovery yield valuable co-products. A nearly 100% glucans...
The generation of eucalypt sawdust has increased in Uruguay with the expansion pulp and paper industrial sites. Currently, most this readily available feedstock is either not used or applied for producing heat power by combustion biomass boilers. In work, was subjected to steam explosion as first step cellulosic ethanol production within biorefinery concept. effect moisture content, pretreatment temperature residence time were evaluated, along influence water washing steam-exploded solids on...
