We present optical and infrared photometry of the unusual Type Ia supernova 2000cx. With data Li et al. Jha, this constitutes largest set ever assembled for a SN, more than 600 points in UBVRIJHK. confirm finding regarding unusually blue B−V colors as SN 2000cx entered nebular phase. Its I‐band secondary hump was extremely weak given its B‐band decline rate. The V minus near‐infrared likewise do not match loci based on other slowly declining SNe, although V−K is least "abnormal." In several...

Abstract Detailed elemental abundance patterns of metal-poor ([Fe/H] ∼ −1 dex) stars in the Galactic bulge indicate that a number them are consistent with globular cluster (GC) and may be former members dissolved GCs. This would few per cent was built up from destruction and/or evaporation Here, an attempt is made to identify such presumptive stripped originating massive, inner Galaxy GC NGC 6441 using its rich RR Lyrae variable star (RRL) population. We present radial velocities 40 RRLs...

Scattering of radio waves off inhomogeneities in electron density the interstellar medium can produce an apparent broadening angular diameter intrinsically compact background source. The magnitude and distribution this effect at low galactic latitudes (|b|<5°) is not well known, although several cases suggest substantial certain directions, such as Cygnus X region (Anderson et al . 1972), center (Davies, Walsh, Booth 1976). Large scattering plane consistent with scintillation properties...
