We present a complete survey of current star formation in the Perseus molecular cloud, made at 850 and 450 with SCUBA JCMT. Covering 3 deg2, this submillimetre continuum for protostellar activity is second size only to that ρ Ophiuchus (Johnstone et al. 2004, ApJ, 611, L45). Complete above 0.4 ( detection beam), we detect total 91 protostars prestellar cores. Of these, 80% lie clusters, representative across Galaxy. Two groups cores are associated young stellar clusters IC 348 NGC 1333,...
ABSTRACT Networks of ground stations designed to transmit and receive at visible infra‐red wavelengths through the atmosphere offer an opportunity provide on‐demand, high‐bandwidth, secure communications with spacecraft in Earth orbit beyond. This work describes operation activities current free space optical (FSOC) Germany Australasia. In Germany, FSOC facilities are located Oberpfaffenhofen campus German Aerospace Center (DLR), Laser‐Bodenstation Trauen (Responsive Space Cluster Competence...
We present the results of a search for bright high-redshift galaxies in two large SCUBA scan-maps Galactic regions. A Mexican Hat Wavelet technique was used to locate point sources these maps, which suffer high foreground contamination as well typical scan-map noise signatures. catalogue source objects selected and observed again submillimetre continuum, HCO+ (3->2) at zero redshift rule out sources. No extragalactic were found. Simulations show that survey sensitive with fluxes > 50...

Aotearoa New Zealand's rapidly growing aerospace sector is still in its infancy, which presents us with the unique opportunity to incorporate sustainability as a key performance parameter from outset. Through surveys and interviews stakeholder groups, we show that currently, largely deprioritises environmental compliance Te Tiriti o Waitangi favour of economic growth. Actors are not incentivised consider any aspects sustainability. While concerns acknowledged, they often viewed technical...
The Instrumentation and Future Technologies Technical Committee’s (IFT-TC) second summer school took place in Auckland, New Zealand, from 30 January to 3 February 2023. IFT Remote Sensing Summer Schools (IFT-R3S) aim promote future research remote sensing; connect Master students, junior Ph.D. recent graduates, young professionals with groups linked the IFT-TC; highlight educational activities of IEEE Geoscience Society (GRSS). IFT-R3S focuses on sensing instrumentation aspirations develop...
