We have investigated the carbon mono-vacancy in Ta4AlC3 by first-principles calculations. identify 2a sites as probable vacancy based on energetics of formation. It was found that introducing vacancies decreased phase stability Ta4AlC3. There are no significant changes volume vacancy.
