Abstract The damage mode and failure mechanism of the PBO composite are studied penetrating speed from 900 m/s to 1900 m/s, based on dynamic response fiber-reinforced target under high-speed penetration. Firstly, mechanical properties projectile material high strain rate were characterized, then penetration into is simulated. Finally, test verified. results show that varies significantly with speed.
