Six kinds of FeCrAl coatings with different Cr and Al contents were irradiated by 6 MeV Au-ions a damage level 20 dpa. The results showed that the surface roughness grain size increased significantly after irradiation. Nanoscale precipitation irradiation-induced twins appeared in coating relatively lower content. increase content promotes transformation from softening to hardening. Changed can cause change hardness, but cannot transition underlying evolution mechanism microstructure...

A comprehensive evaluation including microstructure, mechanical properties, and lead-bismuth eutectic corrosion resistance of amorphous alumina coatings after different doses Au2+ irradiation was done using X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transmission nanoindentation, SRIM software, eRDF Analyzer. The results showed that decreased the surface roughness induced crystallization in middle coating at interface. might be dominated by energy loss, while interface had to consider...

Five Cr-containing refractory high-entropy alloy (RHEA) coatings were prepared by magnetron sputtering technology and then exposed to static lead–bismuth eutectic investigate their oxidation resistances at 550–650 °C. The obtained TiNbCrMoV coating had a BCC crystalline structure, while the others amorphous. exhibited best corrosion resistance, followed TiNbZrCrV CrNbZrMoV coatings, finally TiCrZrMoV TiNbZrMoCr coatings. excellent resistance of was mainly attributed presence grain boundaries...

Seven FeCrAlY-Al2O3 nanoceramic composite coatings are deposited on F/M steel via plasma spraying and laser remelting. A systematic investigation is conducted to examine the dependence of microstructure, mechanical properties, lead–bismuth eutectic (LBE) corrosion resistance nano-Al2O3 addition different Cr Al contents. With increase in content FeCrAlY, gradual refinement coating grains occurs. The promotes elemental segregation precipitation second phase. notably enhances properties that...

Abstract Al/Al 2 O 3 coating with a total thickness of approximately μ m was irradiated by 6 MeV Au-ions the damage level from 13 to 39 dpa at room temperature. The results showed that surface roughness decreased increasing irradiation levels. As is up dpa, crystallinity Al layer enhanced, and irradiation-induced defects such as voids dislocations appeared in coating. hardness deterioration deuterium permeation resistance are strongly associated changed microstructure. underlying mechanism...

The corrosion resistance of the ZrN coating deposited on ferritic/martensitic (F/M) steel by magnetron sputtering method was investigated in static liquid lead-bismuth eutectic (LBE) at 450∼650℃. After LBE test, although oxidized to form ZrO2, no spallation, dissolution attack and Pb/Bi penetration occurred coating. results indicate that coatings still have good adhesion could protect F/M steels substrates from corrosion. However, several microscopic cracks voids inside were observed, which...

The effect of FeCrAl sublayer composition on the microstructure and lead-bismuth eutectic corrosion behavior FeCrAl/YSZ (Yttria-stabilized zirconia) composite coatings was systematically investigated by SEM XRD. results show that as a diffusion barrier bonding layer is beneficial to improve resistance coatings. After corrosion, slow-growing, continuous, protective Al-rich oxide formed at interface between YSZ sublayer, which effectively hinders inward oxygen atoms outward iron atoms....
