Achieving a high-quality metal contact on two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors still remains major challenge due to the strong Fermi level pinning and absence of an effective doping method. Here, we demonstrate high performance "all-PtSe2" field-effect transistors (FETs) completely free from those issues, enabled by vertical integration metallic thick PtSe2 source/drain onto semiconducting ultrathin channel. Owing its inherent thickness-dependent semiconductor-to-metal phase transition,...

Apoptosis plays a crucial role in neuronal injury, with substantial evidence implicating Fas-mediated cell death as key factor ischemic strokes. To address this, inhibition of Fas-signaling has emerged promising strategy preventing and alleviating brain ischemia. However, the challenge overcoming blood–brain barrier (BBB) hampers effective delivery therapeutic drugs to central nervous system (CNS). In this study, we employed 30 amino acid-long leptin peptide facilitate BBB penetration. By...

The performance of robots in high-level tasks depends on the quality their lower-level controller, which requires fine-tuning. However, intrinsically nonlinear dynamics and controllers make tuning a challenging task when it is done by hand. In this paper, we present DiffTune, novel, gradient-based automatic framework. We formulate controller as parameter optimization problem. Our method unrolls dynamical system computational graph updates parameters through optimization. gradient obtained...

Nongestational choriocarcinoma differentiation is extremely rare in breast neoplasms. It characterized by tumor cells similar to chorionic trophoblastic cells, which react with human placental lactogen and gonadotropin (hCG). A 56-year-old woman presented a palpable right mass without past history of tumors. An F-18 fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan revealed one focus low accumulation FDG the (maximum standardized uptake value, 1.98). The...

We present a new fiber-bundle-based endomicroscopy system to measure the fast cerebral blood flow (CBF) velocity in vessels located between surface and deep brain of living animals. The CBF is obtained by measuring displacement partially overlapped red cell images directly, using double-pulse 532-nm laser illumination. proposed method could with diameters ranging from 4 μm 42 velocities up 3.2 μm/ms for different vessel at depth 2.1 mm mouse.
