To develop novel biomimetic smart materials, we prepared flexible cellulose nanocrystals/montmorillonite (CNCs/Mt) composite films with chiral nematic order structure via evaporation-induced self-assembly of an aqueous dispersion, which show dual responses interesting color and shape deformation at the same time under humidity-stimulus.
