As technology moves toward flexibility, embedded systems, and miniaturization, which often have metallic elements integrated with the functional substrates, understanding contact deformation of such soft substrates coated thin films is crucial. However, probing nanoscale deformations optically, typically in a few hundred nanometers, poses challenges. Dual Wavelength - Reflectance Interference Contrast Microscopy (DW-RICM) holds promise unveiling deformations. when paired conventional glass...
Quality inspection is a pivotal component in the intelligent sorting of Astragalus membranaceus (Huangqi), medicinal plant significant pharmacological importance. To improve precision and efficiency assessing quality slices, we present FA-SD-YOLO model, an innovative advancement over YOLOv8n architecture. This model introduces several novel modifications to enhance feature extraction fusion while reducing computational complexity. The replaces conventional C2f module with C2F-F module,...
Abstract A water‐resistant adhesive for plywood panels engineered wood floors was developed using thermal–chemically treated wheat flour (WF), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate (p‐MDI) as the cross‐linker. The thermal–chemical treatment performed at 100°C in presence of sulfuric acid or sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X‐ray diffraction scanning electron microscopy were used to investigate chemical structure, crystalline...
Phase-stepping photoelasticity has been used to study the fragmentation of an E-glass fibre in epoxy resin and examine quantitatively effect a transverse matrix crack on stress transfer at interphase. Unsized glass was coated by plasma polymerisation with crosslinked conformal film 90% acrylic acid 10% 1,7-octadiene. The micro-mechanical response fibre-matrix interphase adjacent described detail using contour maps fringe order. From these, interfacial shear profiles fibre-break have calculated.
